Our Choir

Our choir members make a significant contribution to our choir activities at rehearsals, performances and weekly suppers.

Through our events, we often support charities while our choir members enjoy the health benefits of singing and giving back to those in need.

Ed Chan, Musical Director

With a Master of Music (Performance Teaching) and a Diploma in Music (Piano), Ed brings wonderful skills and experience as a conductor, pianist and singer. In addition to working with Yarra Gospel, Ed conducts Grace Notes Singers and works in several secondary schools.

Yvonne Giltinan (Founder and former Musical Director)

After a career as a Director of Music in schools in Hobart and Darwin, Yvonne founded the choir in 2004. Her passion for gospel music and her infectious enthusiasm set the tone for over 18 years. She built the choir from 4 people to over 60+ before Covid. In 2021 Yvonne‘s voluntary work as Choir Director was recognised when she received the 2021 Boroondara Citizen of the Year Award and also the COVID 19 Outstanding Local Hero Award.

In 2023 Yvonne Giltinan handed over the baton to Ed Chan.
